LOVE & OTHER CHAIRS? Come again?
Yes, LOVE & OTHER CHAIRS.
Oh! How unusual!
This would be the most common reaction of every person who sits to watch this film. It’s like you’ll hear the title and you’ll go “okay, really?!”
The title of the film itself is so bizarre that you’d want to check it out!
This is what happens: there is this guy Julian. He has somewhat of a predicament. He has the ability (it is more like a curse) to transform women into chairs! Strange, isn’t it?
The story is narrated by Julian himself, who then walks you through a flashback which explains why he turns women into chairs. The film is about Julian’s story which begins and ends with a chair.
Bevan’s creativity and Luke Kondor’s compelling writing are what make this film a huge success. Kondor’s writing lets you relate to Julian’s character and empathize with what he’s going through. Then of course, there’s Mark Drake who plays the protagonist Julian. Mark’s acting is just impeccable! He blends into Julian’s character so innocently; it just melts your heart.
A deep message is conveyed through the story which touches your heart and a sad smile would surely hang on your lips.
It is simply amazing how the director has successfully conveyed a candid message through a film which is only 7 minutes long. Within 7 minutes you would be showered with so many emotions simultaneously. The film teaches you a great lesson about love. It tells you that when love knocks on your door, you should not only welcome it with open arms, embrace it but also you should never commit the mistake of letting it go.
LOVE & OTHER CHAIRS is a thought provoking film which will question your theories about what love actually is. Christopher Bevan’s creativity really takes this film to a whole new level.
So are you adding it to your favorites list or what? I know I am!
