Water Women – Review

A bare minimum requirement. Imagine the horror, when you open your tap and untreated mucky water runs down to your sink! Water in which you can’t dream about taking a bath, let alone drinking that same water. The thirty minute documentary highlights the problems faced by a consumer up against a private company that supplies water to their neighbourhood in South Carolina. The visuals did make this heavy topic much easier to digest. Director Laura P. Valtorta has brought out this issue with her bold style.

High rates and offensive water supply, now that is not acceptable. With statistics and interviews the documentary catches the true agony faced by the consumer. Attorneys were appointed to fight against these companies at court for their rights for clean drinking water but, in vain. It is truly said there are no winners in a civil service case. Only negations happen.

The documentary did bring to light that sometimes consumer satisfaction is placed way below a company’s profit schemes.
