The Art House – Review

Wouldn’t it be great if our childhood dreams of scribbling recklessly on the walls of our home actually came true and if we, as grownups could actually draw and paint on walls as and when we pleased?

This 9 minutes documentary is about Ginger Westray, a retired school teacher who uses her house as a canvas. She pours out her talent onto the walls and draws whatever comes to her mind.

The Art Hosue - Review - Short of the Month

She discusses her story with the audience, her life and marriage to her late husband. Her daughter contributes significantly to the story and enlightens the viewers about how she grew up with butterfly illustrations on her bedroom walls.

Ginger further shares how she switched from paint to crayons and chalk over the years. This documentary also lets the audience catch a glimpse of Ginger’s house, it’s interiors that have been so meticulously decorated with sculptures of different kinds; walls covered with bizarre paintings.

The Art House refreshes one’s mind and reminds one about what lengths people are willing to go in order to keep alive their passion for any art form.
