The third annual AI Film Festival (AIFF), presented by Runway, is set to showcase groundbreaking works at the intersection of artificial intelligence and filmmaking this June. The festival will host exclusive gala screenings at two prestigious venues: New York City’s Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center on June 5th at 7 PM ET and a Los Angeles screening at the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage on June 12th at 6 PM PT.
Distinguished Jury and Prize Pool
This year’s submissions will be evaluated by an esteemed panel of jurors, including acclaimed director Gaspar Noé and Tribeca’s Jane Rosenthal. The festival offers a substantial prize pool of over $60,000, with awards distributed across multiple categories:
- Grand Prix: $15,000 cash prize + 1,000,000 Runway credits
- Gold: $10,000 cash prize + 500,000 Runway credits
- Silver: $5,000 cash prize + 500,000 Runway credits
- Honoree (2 winners): $1,000 cash prize + 100,000 Runway credits each
- Merit (5 winners): $500 cash prize + 100,000 Runway credits each
Submission Guidelines
Filmmakers interested in participating must adhere to these key criteria:
- Films must be 1-10 minutes in length
- Must incorporate generative video elements
- Submissions must be made via the Runway link: https://aiff.runwayml.com/submission
- Category-agnostic entries welcome (narrative and experimental)
The festival has extended its submission deadline to April 13th, giving filmmakers additional time to perfect their entries.
