The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has announced that the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards will be presented in a live program from the Samuel Goldwyn Theater of the Academy on Thursday, January 23, 2025. The live announcement will kick off the event at 5:30 a.m. PST (8:30 a.m. EST / 1:30 p.m. GMT / 9:30 p.m. CST).
Film lovers and industry insiders all over the world can catch the nominations announcement on different platforms. The event will be streamed immediately on Oscar.com, Oscars.org, as well as the Academy’s digital platforms including TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook. The program will also be broadcasted on ABC’s Good Morning America, ABC News Live, Disney+ and Hulu.
The nominations will be delivered in two segments. The first segment, commencing at 5:30 a.m. PST, will announce in nine categories, the nominees, including the Short Film categories – Animated Short Film and Live Action Short Film. The second segment, that starts at 5:41 a.m. PST, will tell the nominees, in the other fourteen categories, including the Documentary Short Film and major categories like Best Picture, Directing, and the acting awards.
The 97th Academy Awards ceremony is planned to be aired on Sunday, March 2, on ABC and Hulu.
